‘Bad feeling’ – Former Rangers boss rejects managerial role as Warnock is reunited with former Cardiff star
The Scottish Premiership is gearing up for an action-packed weekend with Hearts and Hibs returning to the field after their success in the Scottish Cup. Both teams have had extra rest compared to their opponents, Motherwell and Aberdeen, who recently played out a thrilling 3-3 draw.
Motherwell had initially surged ahead with a three-goal lead against Aberdeen but had to settle for a point after a remarkable comeback from Aberdeen. Aberdeen, in turn, will be facing Hibs in their next match.
Both Hearts and Hibs will be aiming for victories to enhance their chances of European competition next season. Hearts are having an impressive season, currently on a five-game winning streak in the league with 48 points from 25 games. On the other hand, Hibs are currently eighth in the table with 26 points and are seeking their first league victory of the year.
In other news, former Rangers manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst has revealed why he turned down the Besiktas job, citing a lack of connection with the club. Despite having multiple opportunities to return to football, including the offer from Besiktas, Van Bronckhorst opted not to pursue any coaching positions at the moment.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen has made a significant signing in former Blackburn, QPR, and Cardiff City winger Junior Hoilett, who joins on a short-term deal. Hoilett has previously worked with Aberdeen’s manager Neil Warnock at QPR and Cardiff City and is expected to bolster the squad for the remainder of the season. Warnock expressed his satisfaction with the signing, emphasizing Hoilett’s international experience and the positive impact he can bring to the team.
