At the very least, Celtic stated they might fetch up to £3 million for a player in “fantastic” form.
When Mikey Johnston came to West Brom on loan from Celtic, few would have imagined the effect he’s making; Carlton Palmer talks about the expense of a permanent transfer.
The 24-year-old, six-time Ireland international Johnston only made 12 appearances for Celtic in the first half of the season. As a result, Brendan Rodgers approved his loan departure in January, sending him to play-off contender West Brom.
The winger performed admirably. Although he has always been a player with a lot of promise and technical skill, his performance has improved this season. He has six goals for West Brom in nine games.
an aid as well. Carlton Palmer talked about how much a permanent move to The Hawthorns or other Championship clubs would cost this summer. Given his current play, these moves are now being evaluated.
Palmer stated of Johnston in an interview with Football League World: “He’s enjoying his football there at West Brom and is having a fantastic time.” He still has a contract in place with Celtic, his parent club.

Since his contract has no fees attached, it’s unclear whether West Brom would be able to pay him now that they have new owners. Given his form, I believe Celtic will be looking at least £2 million or £3 million.
Carlton Palmer believes Celtic might get Mikey Johnston for £3 million.
Johnston’s performance ought to be drawing attention from Premier League teams as well as Championship teams—that is, those hoping for automatic promotion from the second division to the top division.
It’s also important to remember that Johnston still has two years left on his Celtics contract, and the Hoops don’t seem to be opposed to his returning. His form for West Brom will undoubtedly entice Rodgers.
Stephen McGinn’s December allegation that Johnston was growing worse is a long way off. In order to showcase him in the shop window, John Hartson said he only played a small part for Celtic before to his loan.
