He was essential to Albion’s early-season success, and now he might return in time to help the team win it all.

Since Matt Phillips’ hamstring injury during West Brom’s December loss to Leicester City, the team has been without the seasoned player.

With the winger sidelined for perhaps four months, it was a blow for Albion.

He had surgery. the news that Phillips was healing faster than expected after suffering a hamstring tear last month gave fans hope.

Carlos Corberan gave an update in early February, stating: “Matty Phillips is a player who is dealing with a longer-term ailment but is making good progress.

“We anticipate that, if he keeps up his current rate of improvement, he will be exercising with the group earlier we had anticipated—that is, before the season ends.

It is not a good idea to plan because we do not know (exactly) when. Even if they are healing nicely, long-term injuries are impossible to plan for because they place a burden on the patient and the medical team that they are unable to handle.”

And now that there has been a return to training, Phillips participated in the first team workout on Wednesday.

Given that it coincided with Corberan’s 33rd birthday, it was not only a significant victory for Corberan but also a warm greeting for the player.
