ARSENAL
‘The Dream Target’: Fabrizio Romano Names the Striker Arsenal Want More Than Anyone Else.
Arsenal are on the lookout for a new striker.
The Gunners’ search for a centre-forward has been making headlines for months, and with the transfer window approaching, Arsenal can begin their efforts in earnest.
In an interview with JD Football, Fabrizio Romano discussed Arsenal’s transfer plans, mentioning that players like Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres are potential options.
However, Romano indicated that Arsenal’s ideal target is Alexander Isak. Unfortunately for the Gunners, he believes this deal is unlikely to happen.
Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s top target
Romano talked about Isak and Arsenal’s high regard for him.
“They still need a proper number nine. Sesko is on the list, and Viktor Gyokeres has had a fantastic season in Portugal. The dream target could be Alexander Isak at Newcastle, but I don’t think he’s going to leave the club,” Romano stated.
Isak deal is challenging
Arsenal would love to sign Alexander Isak, but this deal might be too difficult to pull off this summer.
The Swedish striker is reportedly valued at around £180 million, which is likely beyond Arsenal’s current budget.
Indeed, the striker would cost far too much for a club like Arsenal, and, in truth, he’d likely be too expensive for anyone at that price point.
Newcastle understand the value of their asset and are not inclined to sell him cheaply.
The Magpies are justified in holding firm on Isak. He is a top player, and even with a substantial transfer fee, finding a replacement of his caliber would be challenging.
Arsenal may need to explore other options this summer, but who they will ultimately target remains uncertain.
