Report: After Daichi Kamada, Crystal Palace now keen on bringing “excellent” £25m player to Selhurst Park for free

This summer is heating up quickly for Crystal Palace, and now Dougie Freedman might be trying to snatch a free agent away from Spurs.

Even though the summer transfer season hasn’t even opened, Crystal Palace is already demonstrating that the expectations that these will be a busy few months were accurate.

Although no players have formally arrived at Selhurst Park as of yet, a few are proceeding well, and agreements might conceivably advance at any point.

With his medical cleared and his contract just pending finalization, Chadi Riad is probably going to sign first.

Additionally, it appears that the Eagles will be making a play for Japanese midfielder Daichi Kamada as well.

There has been talk of a brand-new moniker that might be a real deal.

Ryan Sessegnon is the free agent that Crystal Palace is hoping to sign.

With Kamada already expected to join, it appears that Palace is eager to take advantage of the free agent market this summer. Now, reports suggest that the team is also considering Spurs’ Ryan Sessegnon.

Formerly England’s most intriguing prospect, the 24-year-old will likely leave for free after spending £25 million back in 2019. He only made one appearance for Spurs this season.

Given that Sessegnon’s Spurs contract is about to expire, a few Premier League teams are reportedly interested in signing him this summer, according to a report from GiveMeSport.

Ipswich Town, who recently received a promotion, is now leading the race, but Palace has also expressed interest in the gifted left-sided player, joining Wolves.

During his time as a 17-year-old wing-back for Fulham in the Championship, Sessegnon received nominations for four different awards: Apprentice of the Year, Young Player of the Season, Championship Player of the Season, and Team of the Season.

This demonstrates his talent and the necessity for the right environment to perform.

Where would Oliver Glasner’s team field Sessegnon?

Antonio Conte previously praised Sessegnon as being “great,” and if Glasner can help him reach his full potential, he might be a top player without having to pay a transfer fee.

However, Sessegnon may be aiming to play on the wing, but where will he really fit in for Palace?

Instead, the Englishman might find himself as competition and a more aggressive alternative for Glasner to deploy in alternation with Tyrick Mitchell.

Although Mitchell has performed admirably for Palace at left wing-back, he struggles in more forward positions, thus Glasner may prefer to utilize a player who is more naturally skilled in this area.

Since Mitchell is currently the only player at Palace who can play in that position, a backup plan is still required. In that scenario, Sessegnon’s free agent signing could be ideal.
