Matty Godden receives Coventry City ‘haters’ message after FA Cup heroics
The Coventry City supporters are applauding Matty Godden for his two late goals in Saturday’s 6-2 FA Cup thumping of Oxford United.
Joel Latibeaudiere, Ben Sheaf, Kasey Palmer, and Callum O’Hare goals were the foundation for his brace, which helped Oxford lose and advance to the FA Cup’s fourth round.
The Sky Blue Army is giving Godden a lot of credit on social media; one fan even said that he “looked teary eyed” after scoring his second goal. After the striker’s brace, “all the Godden haters became silent,” as one person noted.
Check out what Coventry supporters have been posting on social media:
@davidcollinscv4: What a sweet way for Godden to end.
@skybluelouis_: Godden appeared emotional following his second…
@andrew_dubock: Godden. Points. Objectives. Happy for him. Furthermore, City’s sixth goal today is more than we deserve—a very polished effort.
@GeorgeAdams555: All of the Godden haters abruptly stopped talking.
@skybluearmyccfc: When Doug stated he wanted a cup run, he wasn’t kidding.
@spence_ross1: Although we’ve been brutal today, this really might have been about ten.
@burfabulous It has been a long time. Giving someone a thorough shoeing is always pleasant, even if it’s just in Oxford.
@spud8550: We have a great crew. Lots of ambitions for this group.
