Martin Boyle Hibs exit could be on as Perth Glory chief spills beans on talks
Martin Boyle has refused to rule out a Hibs exit this summer as Perth Glory target a move for the Socceroo.
The Australia international, 31, is in the final year of his Easter Road contract and has made it clear he’d love to ply his trade in the A-League. Boyle was quizzed on his future after scoring in last night’s 5-0 win over Palestine and revealed he’s due to hold talks with new boss David Gray in the coming weeks.
He told 10 News First Perth: “I did an interview the other day, it’s speculation. Look, I’m still contracted with Hibs. We’ll see what happens when I go back to the club. I’m going to enjoy a few weeks off but we’ll see what the future holds.”
Asked if he has ambitions to play Down Under, he said: “Yeah, I said it a few years ago. I’d love to play here for a year or two and give it everything I’ve got. Since I’ve been in this set-up they’ve given me a lot of trust. I feel if I can come out here and play my trade, I can give a little bit back.”
Perth Glory football director Stan Lazaridis then fuelled speculation that a move could be imminent after letting slip that discussions are already underway. He added: “I’d love him here, of course. Quality player but you know, we’ll continue the conversation and see how it goes.
