COVENTRY CITY
Man Utd could be missing six out of their 10 defenders for Coventry City FA Cup semi-final
Manchester United’s defensive woes ahead of their FA Cup semi-final clash with Coventry City are mounting, with the possibility of missing six defenders for the crucial tie.
Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof have been confirmed as unavailable for the match, while Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are facing significant doubts due to injuries. Additionally, Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans sustained injuries in United’s recent Premier League defeat to Chelsea, further complicating their defensive lineup.
Manager Erik ten Hag remains cautious about the extent of their injuries, but it’s likely that he could be left with only four available defenders for the match: Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Willy Kambwala.
Ten Hag addressed the issue earlier in the week, stating that the club is aware of the situation and will address it internally. He dismissed suggestions that training intensity was to blame and also hinted at concerns regarding the management of players by some national teams, suggesting that United may not have complete control over their players’ fitness regimes during international breaks.
