Dylan Raiola’s decision to switch his commitment from Georgia to Nebraska was influenced by Kirk Herbstreit, according to an interview with Raiola’s father, Dominic Raiola, a former Nebraska All-American. In a conversation with Rivals, Dominic Raiola shared that the “College GameDay” analyst encouraged the change when he learned about Dylan’s interest in Nebraska.

“When he saw the smoke about Dylan entertaining Nebraska, he was like, ‘Call me,’” said Dominic Raiola about Herbstreit. He continued, “’Dude, Is this true? He got to do it. He got to do it.’ (Herbstreit’s) affinity for Nebraska, for a guy like that to tell me and get behind me. Look, I knew he needed to do it.”

Dylan Raiola, a highly-rated quarterback from Buford High School in Georgia, initially committed to Georgia but flipped to Nebraska before the early signing period. He is the nephew of Dominic Raiola, who serves as the offensive line coach for the Cornhuskers.

In December, Dylan Raiola expressed his connection to Nebraska, stating, “I firmly believe that Nebraska is in my blood. It’s a great opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself. Nebraska is a special place.” Previously committed to Ohio State, Raiola changed his commitment to Georgia in May. Over the past three years, he attended three different high schools in three different states.
