The center back received his first start for Bolton Wanderers since February as they defeated Port Vale 2-0 at home thanks to goals from Aaron Collins and Cameron Jerome.
At the ToughSheet Community Stadium, Taylor, 21, played 90 minutes for the Trotters as they won all three points.
According to The Bolton News, Evatt expressed her admiration for him by saying, “He did really well.” They are two extremely strong forwards. I recall suffering two fractured ribs when playing against Uche (Ikpeazu) a good ten years ago. He is a true test of strength and endurance. For a young man, I felt Caleb stood up to that quite well.
Hailed as a West Brom loan man
Since switching to the Bolton Wanderers for the winter, Taylor has had to wait for his opportunities.
In order to gain some experience, West Brom allowed him to temporarily leave the team during the January transfer window.
Nevertheless, he has only appeared in six games for Evatt’s team and hasn’t been able to secure a regular starting position.
Taylor joined the Baggies at the age of nine and progressed through their academy system.
He has participated in three senior team games for the Midlands team and has been a consistent player for them at several youth levels.
The player, who was born in Burnley, featured in 40 games for the Robins overall during the previous season, contributing two goals.
After that, West Brom made the decision to hold onto him for the first half of this season as a backup before allowing him to sign with Bolton Wanderers.
Derby County just has to draw with Carlisle United on the last day of play to advance, while the Trotters are currently third in the League One standings and are aiming for promotion.
When Evatt’s team travels to Peterborough United, Taylor will be hoping for additional playing time.
His parent team, West Brom, is playing Sheffield Wednesday away this weekend after losing 2-1 at Leicester City.
