Oh eyed by Genk

Out of style Oh Hyeon-gyu, a striker for Celtic, has been connected to a summer move to Genk, a team in Belgium. Since Brendan Rodgers replaced Ange Postecoglou as Celtic’s head coach last summer, the 23-year-old South Korean has failed to leave Parkhead with a lasting impact on the team. After signing Adam Idah for about £2.5 million in January of last year, Celtic hopes to get the most of that money back and use it to potentially buy Adam Idah permanently. Idah made an impression while on loan from Norwich City the previous season.

Celtic's Oh Hyeon-gyu could be on his way out of the club.

Celtic goalkeeper latest

Premiership winners Celtic are currently searching for a new goalkeeper, and Martin Dubravka of Newcastle United is the most recent candidate linked to the team. The 35-year-old Slovakian, who is the Magpies’ No. 2 behind Nick Pope, will be free to leave St. James’ Park this summer provided Newcastle closes a deal to get James Trafford from Burnley.

Defender link for Old Firm

The Austrian defender Flavius Daniliuc has surfaced as a Celtic and Rangers transfer target. Both the Old Firm teams are eager to expand their alternatives at center-half, and RB Salzburg’s 23-year-old player, who is under contract with Salernitana in Italy but played for them last season, is well-liked in Scotland, according to reports in Austrian media. Having been a member of the Austrian squad for Euro 2024, Daniliuc is sure to attract a lot of interest this summer.

Vargas Costa Rica joy

After two warm-up games, Los Ticos’ playing pool for the Copa America will include Hearts attacker Kenneth Vargas, who made it through Costa Rica’s squad cut. Vargas, who signed a permanent contract with Costa Rica from SC Herediano at the end of the season, is now officially a member of Gustavo Alfaro’s squad. Costa Rica is in a group with Brazil, Colombia, and Paraguay.

Hibs want more for Youan

After an unidentified French club made a bid of about £2.5 million for the 25-year-old attacker Elie Youan, Hibs is hanging out for a larger offer. With two years remaining on his deal at Easter Road, Youan moved from St Gallen for £700,000 in the summer and finished the previous season with ten goals and eleven assists for Hibs.

Motherwell land defender

After leaving Crystal Palace, former Northern Ireland Under-21 center-back Kofi Balmer joined Motherwell on a two-year deal. Before winning a move to the Eagles in the summer of 2022, the 23-year-old played for stints with Ballymena and Larne in his native country. Balmer left Palace without playing for the first team after spending the previous season on loan at Port Vale and Wimbledon. Balmer is the first new recruit that Motherwell has added this summer. “I’m overjoyed to be here,” he exclaimed. “I’ve heard fantastic things about the supporters and the club. I’m eager to get to know everyone and start working. I want to have a significant influence throughout my stay here and think I can provide a lot to the squad.

Boyd’s bold prediction

Kris Boyd has urged Scotland to take advantage of German angst in Friday’s tantalizing Munich opening and position themselves up for the 2024 European Championship knockout stage. Boyd stated, “Germany will be under pressure in every game they play.” Regardless of past failures, they will always have high expectations for themselves. This game seems like it might be popular. Although it will be extremely challenging, we are optimistic that we can make progress, which would be a great way to launch the campaign.
