Arsenal can rub salt into Man Utd wounds with very sneaky £40m transfer move
Arsenal may attempt to profit on Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United situation this summer. The England star will reportedly depart Old Trafford and will have a number of European clubs lining up to secure a bargain trade.
It seems that the 24-year-old will go regardless of what happens to Erik ten Hag. After a public argument about Sancho’s exclusion from the matchday squad for Arsenal’s 3-1 victory, the two fell out in September of last year.
Following his expulsion from the first team, Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund in January. He was a standout player at his last team, leading them to the Champions League final at Wembley until Real Madrid defeated them.
With a projected £40 million price tag for the winger, Arsenal should now consider taking a chance on Sancho in the upcoming months.Although acquiring a new center-forward is probably the Gunners’ first priority, Mikel Arteta still needs to bolster his forward line. The team would also benefit from another wide player.
During the last few months of the Premier League season, Arteta alternated between Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli. Sancho, who could be one of the best deals of the summer transfer window at £40 million, would be an improvement over both players.
The excellent man-management skills of Arteta would help place Sancho on the right path and help the former Manchester City prospect flourish in the Premier League. Sancho showed glimpses of his enormous talent at United but struggled for consistency amid plenty of uncertainty at Old Trafford.
Hoping to rebuild his career, Sancho may choose to do so abroad, away from the limelight of these shores. A third spell at Dortmund is likely to be ruled out, with the Bundesliga club unlikely to afford United’s asking price. But there will be several interested parties elsewhere in Germany, Spain and Italy.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta could get the best out of Jadon Sancho
There might not be many more alluring initiatives than this one at Arsenal if Sancho does choose to stay in England. The 23-cap England winger will face Manchester City and Liverpool in a Premier League title match in north London the following season.
He might also make Arsenal’s fierce rivals United seem foolish if he succeeds at a different elite team. The possibility still exists that the Red Devils will come to regret letting Sancho go this summer, especially if Ten Hag is replaced in the upcoming days.
Sancho will have to consider his options for the time being. However, he might be in line for a win-win transfer to Arsenal.
