West Bromwich Albion
‘Awesome’ ‘Amazing’ – Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom bosses agree on one thing about this afternoon
The upcoming match between Sheffield Wednesday and West Bromwich Albion promises to be intense, with both teams needing a win for different reasons. Sheffield Wednesday needs a victory to ensure they enter the final day of the season outside the bottom three, while West Brom is looking to confirm their place in the playoffs. The atmosphere is expected to be electric, with sold-out allocations at Hillsborough. West Brom will be supported by 2,400 fans, while Wednesday’s home support has been bolstered with the opening of the West Stand Lower.
Both managers are expecting a special atmosphere for the game.
Carlos Corberan, West Brom manager, acknowledged the significance of the atmosphere, comparing it to what one might experience in a playoff match.
“We know we’re going to play in an atmosphere which is going to be amazing,” said Corberan. “The atmosphere that we are going to experience on Saturday is the same atmosphere you might expect to find if you were playing in a play-off match.”
Owls manager Danny Röhl also emphasized the importance of a vibrant atmosphere, urging fans to support the team from the first minute to the last.
“The atmosphere will be awesome,” said Röhl. “I hope that we have from the kick-off a great atmosphere, even if maybe we have some moments in the game where the opponent is a bit stronger or something like this. We must create a great atmosphere the whole time, and we will deliver on the pitch. It could be a special afternoon, and hopefully, we will never forget the last home game in the future.”
