Report: West Brom boss Carlos Corberan issues promotion rallying call
The manager of Albion, Carlos Corberan, acknowledged the challenge of moving up from the Championship and said he would be content to make it to the play-offs in the last moments of the season.
The head coach of the Baggies watched his team take on one of the most difficult matches of the league today—a midday match at Leicester—as one of four teams vying for the top two spots.
Leicester Albion and the other teams have three games remaining, against Sheffield Wednesday and Preston, to solidify their spot in the top six, which they have occupied for the majority of the season.
Corberan reiterated his commitment to competing for Premier League promotion with the runners and riders, even in the face of Albion’s remarkable consistency. It is a more noteworthy endeavor, especially in light of Albion’s financial circumstances under Guochuan Lai.
Enthusiastic about the challenge, Corberan asked, “If you tell me, do I want to do this as quickly as possible? No, no, no. No, I want to win each and every game.
Should I aim to triumph tomorrow? Naturally. Is that what you’re aiming for? Indeed. Are you aware of the challenge? Indeed. However, we can’t expect to accomplish everything in life with ease.
“Why? Because making the playoffs is a difficult goal that many teams are investing a lot of money in trying to accomplish. It is therefore difficult when anything is unique. Numerous teams are vying for automatic (direct) promotion here. If it were simple, just take a look at Leicester’s current situation. Why? It is really complicated because it is not simple.
