Myziane Maolida has been awarded the Premiership Player of the Month accolade for his outstanding performances with Hibernian. The winger, on loan from Hertha Berlin since January, has been in scintillating form, scoring in every Premiership match he has played. His contributions include goals against Ross County (twice), Livingston, and Rangers, amounting to six goals and an assist in 11 league appearances.

Maolida’s loan deal expires in the summer, and his contract with Hertha Berlin runs until 2025, sparking interest among fans in seeing him extend his stay at Hibs beyond the current campaign. Additionally, Emiliano Marcondes, another loan signing from Bournemouth, has been impressing at Hibs, prompting discussions about the possibility of retaining both players long-term.

Manager Nick Montgomery expressed optimism about retaining Maolida and Marcondes, emphasizing the importance of providing a supportive environment where players can enjoy their football and thrive. He highlighted Maolida’s immense talent and potential, suggesting that he has been steadily improving with each passing week and has much more to offer.

Montgomery acknowledged the financial considerations involved in securing the services of loan players permanently but stressed the club’s ability to be creative in its approach to player recruitment, whether through loans or permanent transfers. He credited the club’s investment in securing loan deals for Maolida and Marcondes as a shrewd piece of business and expressed confidence in their continued growth and contribution to the team.
