BREAKING: A Startling Trade Update for Haason Reddick Surfaces..

The Eagles’ star pass rusher reportedly never requested a trade and wants to stay in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Haason Reddick was the topic of conversation on Sunday after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Reddick received permission to seek a trade.

The report from Rapoport sent Eagles fans into a frenzy as Reddick has recorded double-digit sacks in back-to-back seasons. However, it appears the veteran EDGE rusher wants to stay in Philadelphia despite said report.

Reddick told Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz on Tuesday that he wants to stay in the City of Brotherly Love and never requested a trade.

“I would like to get an extension done here at home. At no point did I ever tell the organization I want to be traded,” Reddick said. “This is home for me. I was born and raised here. Two of the most fun years playing football in my life came here. I’ve cherished being an Eagle.”

Schultz added that the Eagles know Reddick has one year left on his contract and needs a new deal. However, Philadelphia informed the veteran’s camp that they could explore trade options if they wanted to.

Reddick took to social media and reiterated that he never asked for a trade but understands it’s a business.

It’s understandable why Reddick wants a new deal, as he’s outplayed his current contract with the Eagles. Philadelphia signed the former Temple standout to a three-year, $45 million deal in 2022.

Reddick is set to make $14.25 million this season and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2025. In his first two years with the Eagles, the 29-year-old pass rusher has recorded 49 quarterback hits, 27 sacks, and 24 tackles for loss. He’s been the perfect addition to a Philly defensive line that lacked an explosive playmaker off the edge.

That being said, if the Eagles traded Reddick this offseason, they would want to get something significant in value back for him, such as draft capital. However, with how Reddick has played over the last couple of years, that’s hard to let go, and Philadelphia might need to re-up his contract.
