Another night another insipid performance from Celtic but they got the job done and the three points head back to Glasgow tonight

Celtic’s win on the road against Hibs at Easter Road ends Brendan Rodgers’ incredible winless run in Leith and puts the Hoops back on the

And with the lead at the top now back to three points, it’s now over to Rangers to win their game in hand to keep the pressure at the top of the table.

And whilst the win is lauded by the Celtic support, the inquest into the performance of the team will come in good time.

But for now, it was Chris Sutton who had the first word on the full-time whistle. Speaking on Sky Sports, Sutton said, “I said before the game it felt big for both teams. Hibs hadn’t been on a great run and Celtic are in a title race.

“Adam Idah, I’ve got to say, great confidence and composure. Taking penalties has been a problem for Celtic this season but going away from Easter Road has been a difficult venue for Brendan Rodgers in the past.

“That’s an enormous three points. Celtic, I don’t think they were at their best. But that’s a massive three points and now they’ll move on.”

It was a night that Rodgers’ side huffed and puffed and it looked like it ould have been a case of another two dropped points.

A last-minute penalty for a foul on Kyogo Furuhashi rescued Celtic from dropping another two points and the Hoops fans will be delighted to increase their lead at the top of the table.

With 13 games to go, the title race is hotting up but next up for Celtic is the Scottish Cup against St Mirren at the weekend as Brendan Rodgers looks to progress to the next round.
