Heading into Week 3 of the 2024 season, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are strategizing to enhance their roster following a Week 2 defeat against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The team has made several moves aimed at bolstering their lineup, as announced by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
These changes involve releasing American defensive back Mark Milton and American wide receiver Kaylon Geiger. In their place, the Tiger-Cats have signed American tight end Camren McDonald and American defensive back Kordell Rodgers.
Mark Milton appeared in one game this season, registering three defensive tackles. Kaylon Geiger, who made the team after training camp, had not yet seen playing time this year. The decision to release Milton and Geiger cleared the way for the return of tight end Camren McDonald and the addition of Rodgers to fill the roster gap left by Milton.
Camren McDonald, a 6’4″, 245-pound player from Long Beach, California, returns to the Tiger-Cats after being cut during the final roster cuts of training camp. He brings extensive experience, having played with the Los Angeles Rams and the Green Bay Packers in the 2023 NFL season, along with a successful college career at Florida State University.
Kordell Rodgers, a 5’11”, 175-pound defensive back from Lufkin, Texas, joins the Tiger-Cats following a productive 2023 CFL season with the Montreal Alouettes. His impressive college career at Texas State University underscores his potential contributions to the Tiger-Cats’ defense.
These roster adjustments aim to strengthen the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as they prepare to face the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Week 3, aiming to bounce back from their recent loss.
