Ohio State Buckeyes
The Huskers aim to bounce back as they head to face #4 Ohio State this weekend. Here’s their approach.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Following a tough 56-7 loss to Indiana, the Huskers are searching for solutions as they prepare for a challenging matchup this weekend. They’ll travel to face the #4 Ohio State Buckeyes, who are eager to return to action after a bye week.
The Buckeyes (5-1, 2-1) suffered their only defeat two weeks ago to current #1 Oregon in Eugene. That game led to an NCAA rule change after the Ducks exploited a loophole regarding too many defenders on the field. Ohio State is led by transfer quarterback Will Howard, who has thrown for 1,600 yards with 14 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. The Buckeyes feature two powerful running backs, Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson, along with standout freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. As a team, they rank among the top 20 nationally in both passing and rushing yards per game, 6th in points per game, and 3rd in defense, allowing just 11 points per game.
Meanwhile, the Huskers are searching for solutions after giving up nearly 500 yards and 56 points to Indiana. The offense struggled in Bloomington, turning the ball over five times against the Hoosiers. The Huskers are still one win away from becoming bowl eligible.
Coaches and players will address the media throughout the week, with Coach Rhule speaking on Monday and Thursday, while coordinators and players take the podium on Tuesday. You can watch all those press conferences in the video player above as they become available.
The Huskers will face the Buckeyes at 11 a.m. on Saturday in another nationally televised game on FOX. Nebraska enters the matchup as heavy underdogs, with Ohio State favored by 25.5 points, according to ESPN Bet. The over/under is set at 48.5.
