‘Stop the hatred’: Amad Diallo explains why he left only Sunderland posts on his Instagram this week
The latest social media activities of Amad Diallo has cleared up any confusion among Sunderland and Manchester United supporters.
After returning to Old Trafford following a tremendously successful loan spell the previous season, Amad Diallo hasn’t been shy to express his affection for Sunderland on social media.
The Ivorian has frequently posted pictures from his time on Wearside this season, despite having previously stated that he would only play for the Black Cats in the Championship.
Amad had reportedly requested to return to Sunderland on loan, according to earlier reports, but Fabrizio Romano stated that Amad was content to remain with the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
But since the January transfer window closed, the 21-year-old has only played 27 minutes, and his most recent social media posts indicated he wasn’t very satisfied with his position.
Fans discovered yesterday that Amad had deleted all references to the Red Devils from his Instagram account and had only posted pictures from his time with Sunderland. Prior to this, he had posted pictures from his time at United. In his bio, he had also stated, “This will end.”
Though many believed he was acting irrationally because he wasn’t getting enough game time, Amad has subsequently deleted his account and stated, according to Romano: “I’ve deleted my social media for a month in order to concentrate on Ramadan.” There’s nothing wrong with what I did, so stop the hate.
“It’s my holy month, and on social media, there are awful things to view when you’re fasting.”
