Following a significant commitment, and with yet another high-profile call imminent, the Sooners Illustrated Podcast returns with a brand-new edition.

Josh Callaway and Collin Kennedy of Sooners Illustrated discuss the most recent developments regarding Oklahoma’s recruiting class, beginning with the commitment of 2025 4-star cornerback Trystan Haynes.

Kennedy remarked, “247Sports has Haynes ranked No. 119 nationally and among the top 120 players in the nation.” “You have to be able to keep a recruit of that caliber at home within state boundaries. Particularly in those coveted spots. You can’t let a person go when they are a highly skilled player living nearby.”

Callaway remarked, “This is just a really good athlete.” “He possesses all the necessary height. That guy is all you could ever want. Fantastic win for Oklahoma.”

The boys then discuss the latest with 2025 4-star cornerback Cobby Sellers on the 247Sports YouTube channel ahead of his commitment on Saturday between Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M.

Kennedy stated, “(Sellers) has stated several times he’s still keeping things open.” Texas withdrew from consideration during the last several months.With an excellent cornerback not too far from them, I like where the Aggies are at the moment. Thus, we’ll watch to see if OU can gain some ground or if the Aggies can close.”

The crew then evaluates the current state of the 2025 class before giving an update on the Sooners basketball team following a few more missed opportunities in the transfer portal over the past week and Jalon Moore’s decision not to accept an invitation to the NBA Draft combine while considering a return to Norman.
