NBA legends Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady are part of a group interested in purchasing a minority stake in the Buffalo Bills.
Three professional athletes who played in Toronto during the same era are discussing the possibility of acquiring minority stakes in the Buffalo Bills. Former NBA stars Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, along with former U.S. soccer star Jozy Altidore, have reportedly been in contact with the Pegula family, who are looking for investors, according to Sportico.
The Bills have engaged Allen & Co. to assist in exploring the sale of a non-controlling stake, which is reported to be approximately 25%. According to Sportico, no agreements have been finalized, and there is a possibility that the investments may not go through.
The Buffalo Bills are reportedly valued at around $5.08 billion. In a statement, the team said, “There has been a significant amount of interest, and our focus has been on finding the right partners for our organization. The process is ongoing, and any potential investor cannot be confirmed or finalized until it is approved by the NFL.”
They also emphasized that “the Pegula family’s continued commitment to our fans across this region and beyond, Western New York, and the new Highmark Stadium remains unchanged.”
Buffalo is approximately a two-hour drive from Toronto. Both Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady started their NBA careers with the Toronto Raptors, while Jozy Altidore spent seven seasons with MLS club Toronto FC. None of the three athletes have commented on the rumors to Sportico.
