Lamar Jackson Reacts Strongly to Mark Andrews’ Costly Drop Against the Bills
The Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills faced off in a thrilling Divisional Round matchup that went down to the wire. Ultimately, the Bills secured a narrow victory and will head to Kansas City for the AFC Championship game against the Chiefs.
For the Ravens, it’s back to the drawing board as they prepare for an offseason focused on improvement and aiming for better postseason success.
Baltimore had an opportunity to tie the game late. Trailing 27-19 in the fourth quarter, Lamar Jackson led a determined drive, culminating in a touchdown that brought the Ravens within two points.

Jackson, who had an outstanding season and remains a contender for his third MVP award alongside Bills quarterback Josh Allen, put his team in position to tie the game. On the critical two-point conversion, Jackson threw a pinpoint pass to star tight end Mark Andrews, who was open in the end zone. However, Andrews couldn’t secure the catch, leaving the Ravens just short.
While some were quick to criticize Andrews for the missed opportunity, Jackson stood by his teammate, addressing the media with a candid and emotional response.
“We’re a team,” Jackson stated. “In the first half, I had two costly turnovers. I didn’t hold the safety, I knew it was man coverage, and I threw a bad interception. We battled back, but then I fumbled trying to make something happen on an RPO. That led to points for them.”
Jackson emphasized accountability, praising Andrews for his efforts throughout the season. “He’s been working hard and making plays for us all year. Turnovers played a big role tonight, and penalties, too. That’s why we lost. We were moving the ball so well—just hold onto it. It’s frustrating.”
Jackson’s frustration was evident in his postgame comments, which reflected the team’s disappointment with the result and their self-inflicted errors.
As the Ravens head into a pivotal offseason, they’ll focus on building around Jackson and Derrick Henry, with hopes of returning stronger and making a deeper playoff run next season.
