Alabama Crimson Tide
“It’s challenging but also a lot of fun”: Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer embraces the unique aspects of the Crimson Tide while bringing together a diverse group of individuals.
“There’s a lot happening around the program every day. There are so many people involved and many more who want to be a part of it,” Coach DeBoer said. “Opportunities like this are incredibly enjoyable but they do take up a significant part of the day.”
“But it’s fun to talk about—whether it’s my journey or our program, the direction we’re headed, all of it. It’s enjoyable and it’s why I do it,” he said. “It’s about sharing the experiences we’re having and the stories of these guys that I get to coach and work with.”
“Bringing it all together is fun,” DeBoer said. “The challenge I love is creating this environment, this culture that unites all these different people. It’s a challenge, but it’s a lot of fun.”
“The most important thing for me is always family. My wife has been through it all with me, and I’ve got two kids. It’s about making sure they’re all good with this. As long as they’re happy, that’s what matters most.”
“You can’t do this job without having someone who supports you in every way and allows you to go to work and fully dedicate yourself to the players, staff, and program.”
