HORRIBLE NEWS: Bears star cut off his contract Which Was To be….

“I think we should trade back,” Moore said.

Fellow wideout Equanimeous St. Brown, Moore’s teammate and podcast co-host, agreed, saying that “it worked out the first time.”

It certainly did.

Not only did Carolina finish with the worst record in the NFL this season, giving the Bears the No. 1 pick for the second straight year, but Moore had a terrific debut campaign in the Windy City.

The 26-year-old established career highs in every major receiving category, hauling in 96 receptions for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns.

As for whether or not Chicago will trade the pick, you can never discount the possibility.

Last spring, the Chicago Bears traded the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers and received the Panthers’ 2024 first-round draft choice plus wide receiver D.J. Moore back in the deal.

Well, here are the Bears one year later, once again owning the top overall selection courtesy of their trade with the Panthers.

During an appearance on the St. Brown Bros Podcast, Moore suggested that Chicago should repeat the process.

While the general consensus had been that the Bears will trade Justin Fields and take USC quarterback Caleb Williams, the idea of the team keeping Fields and moving the pick for more assets is gaining some traction.

Fields has apparently won over some people within the organization, and his teammates seem to love him.

Chicago could certainly stockpile even more draft capital (and potentially more NFL-ready talent) if it decides to move down in the draft order while also continuing to develop Fields under center.

In addition, the Bears will have tons of cap room this offseason, so they could bring in some big-time free agents, as well.

One thing is for sure: things are looking up for Chicago, and D.J. Moore will be a significant part of it.
