COVENTRY CITY
Godden, Allen: Coventry City’s injury situation ahead of a crucial test against Leeds United
Coventry City manager Mark Robins has provided an injury update on his squad, particularly regarding striker Matty Godden and midfielder Jamie Allen.
Godden missed the recent defeat against Cardiff City due to a calf injury sustained during the Good Friday victory over Huddersfield Town. Despite his absence, Robins remains hopeful that the 32-year-old will recover in time to be included in the squad for the upcoming match against Leeds United on Saturday. Godden’s progress will be monitored closely as he undergoes treatment to ensure his fitness for the crucial fixture.
On the other hand, Jamie Allen, who recently returned to full training after a seven-week recovery from a fractured cheekbone, has encountered a setback in his comeback journey. Allen has developed a calf injury during his rehabilitation, which has delayed his return to competitive action. Robins indicated that Allen’s calf tightness will require additional time to heal before he can resume full training and be considered for selection.
While Godden’s injury offers hope for a swift recovery, Allen’s setback presents a temporary setback in his return to the pitch. Both players’ availability will be closely monitored by the Coventry City medical staff as they aim to overcome their respective injuries and contribute to the team’s success in the remaining fixtures of the season.
