Former Sheffield Wednesday defender transfer ‘Didn’t work perfectly’

org Sheffield After learning of the situation from Lincoln City’s Director of Football, Jez George, Wednesday’s defender Jaden Brown appears to be leaving the team.

In an interview with BBC Radio Lincolnshire, George covered a variety of Imps-related subjects, such as player arrivals and departures. This season, Jaden Brown, a left-sided wing-back, has come and gone.

Following two seasons with Sheffield Wednesday, Brown joined the Imps in the summer of last year. When Mark Kennedy took over, he was unable to play because of his early season fitness issues.Brown had his opportunities when the Imps changed managers, but he was transferred on loan to St Mirren after making four appearances under head coach Michael Skubala.

Even though he will be back at the LNER Stadium this summer, it seems that his future is uncertain. He only made a few appearances in Scotland, and those appearances were all as substitutes. George, the Imps DoF for more than four years, admitted that Brown’s singing hadn’t done much for him.

“Not every single signing functions flawlessly,” stated George. He didn’t quite get off to a fast start. We wouldn’t want to go in the way of Jaden if the appropriate offer was there, in my opinion.

For the player, who appeared destined for a bright future, it’s just another setback. He progressed through the Spurs system and played for the England under-16 squad that took home the Montaigu Tournament title in 2015. He went on to play for his country up to the Under-19 level, however in 2019 he moved from Spurs to Huddersfield.

After failing to receive senior football during a loan stint at Exeter, he left the Terriers in 2021 to join Sheffield Wednesday. Similar to his stint at Huddersfield, he struggled at Hillsborough, making 32 appearances over the course of two seasons until being cut loose when he was signed by the Imps in the summer.

Without a doubt, Brown is talented, yet he finds it difficult to fit in. He should be in the prime of his profession at the age of 25, not scurrying about for another opportunity. He obviously needs a club where he can feel needed and a part of something bigger, even though his niggly injuries haven’t helped.

Relocating to his hometown of London, or perhaps somewhere closer like Cambridge United, might be beneficial. For players accustomed to big city living, moving away at an early age may often lead to issues. Perhaps moving closer to home would help him feel more at ease and enable him to resurrect the kind of form he once threatened.
