MADISON, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Dakota State fans in Madison are buzzing with excitement as the end of this month approaches, marking the debut of the team’s new football venue.

The Brian Kern Family Stadium at the Beacom PREMIER Complex is the latest addition to NAIA football, taking over from the old Trojan Field, which was nearby in north Madison.

Head coach Josh Anderson expressed enthusiasm for the new facility, noting that while the previous stadium had its history, the new venue offers a modern upgrade for both fans and players. The new field eliminates the need for maintenance like watering and line painting, providing a visually appealing and enjoyable playing surface.

Dakota State will kick off their season and new field with a matchup against their longtime rival, Dakota Wesleyan, in the Ag Bowl on Thursday, August 29.
