Big Changes Ahead for Michigan Football: Transfer Moves, NFL Jumps, and Coaching Shakeups

The 2024 season is over, and big changes are coming for Michigan football. Between the Transfer Portal, NFL Draft decisions, and coaching moves, the Wolverines are gearing up for a busy offseason after finishing 8-5.

Head coach Sherrone Moore is focused on balancing high school recruiting with finding top talent in the Transfer Portal. “We’re going to focus on both,” Moore said. “We’re continuing to bring in the best players who fit our system and culture.”

The Transfer Portal opens on Dec. 9, and things are expected to heat up quickly, with players now able to sign binding agreements right away. Michigan is expected to be aggressive, especially with several players likely heading to the NFL and a stronger emphasis on NIL opportunities.

The team is also making changes to its coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell was let go after the Wolverines’ offense struggled this season, ranking near the bottom of major FBS stats. Sherrone Moore said the decision was in the program’s best interest and is committed to finding solutions.

Stay tuned for updates as Michigan rebuilds and looks ahead to next season.
