In the upcoming NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have the No. 1 pick, and the potential trade of Justin Fields if they select a quarterback is a matter of concern.

According to Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times, Bears tight end Cole Kmet mentioned that Fields has “built a really good rapport” with him, and he hopes Fields stays with the team.

Kmet acknowledged the business aspect of the decision, stating, “The NFL is unfair — that’s just what it is. If they can find a better, cheaper option at any position, they’re gonna do that. That’s what they’ve gotta evaluate, if whoever they’re gonna take at No. 1 is better or not. That’s what this business is.”

Expressing his preference to play with Fields in 2024, Kmet highlighted Fields’ professionalism in handling uncertainties about his future.

Despite rumors projecting the Bears to possibly draft Caleb Williams, the 2022 Heisman winner, Kmet admitted he hasn’t closely watched Williams but has heard positive things about him as a prospect.

Joining Kmet in supporting Fields, Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore expressed his desire to see Justin stay, emphasizing that as a player, he focuses on making plays for the quarterback on the field.

As the NFL offseason provides the Bears with an opportunity to make changes at quarterback, the decision-making process regarding Justin Fields remains a crucial aspect for the team.
