Have the Knicks Discovered Their Next G League Star to Fix Bench Struggles?

Moses Brown Making a Strong Case for Knicks’ Call-Up
Moses Brown continues to make waves for the Westchester Knicks, solidifying his case for a spot with the New York Knicks. In his latest standout performance, Brown notched an impressive double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds. Over nine games in the G League, the 7-foot-2 center is averaging 16.4 points, 13 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game.
The Knicks are in need of defensive reinforcements, and Brown’s consistent performances could place him on their radar as the February 6 trade deadline approaches. While the team has been linked to several rim-protecting centers in trade talks, Brown might offer an in-house solution.

A Potential Backup Plan for New York
If the Knicks are unable to secure a seasoned two-way big man via trade, Brown could be a viable fallback option. At 25, he has a proven track record of excelling in the G League, including an impressive 19.3 points and 12.5 rebounds per game last season. His NBA experience includes productive stints with the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2020-21 season (8.6 points, 8.9 rebounds) and the Cleveland Cavaliers the following year.
The Knicks have been shuffling young talents like Ariel Hukporti, Tyler Kolek, and Pacome Dadiet between the NBA and G League. However, Brown’s consistent output and experience make him a strong candidate for a call-up, especially if injuries continue to impact the roster as the team gears up for the second half of the season.
For now, Moses Brown remains a player to watch, with his performances providing a timely boost to the Westchester Knicks and potentially solving a key need for their parent team.
