As part of his efforts to rebuild the roster for the upcoming NCAAF season, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer has secured a key addition to the defense. Although Alabama still has a game left this season, preparations for the next one are already underway. Coach DeBoer is thrilled to welcome a significant defensive player to the team.

The newest member of the squad is cornerback Zyan Gibson, who chose Alabama over offers from Auburn, Tennessee, and Miami. Gibson is eager to play under Coach DeBoer’s guidance. In comments shared with On3.com, Gibson emphasized that Tuscaloosa is where he believes he can reach his full potential. “Development,” Gibson said. “Can they get me to the next level and having fun.”

Michael, Zyan’s father, also emphasized that they made the best choice for their son: “I really enjoy the process with Alabama,” said the elder Gibson. “Meeting the new staff and everything, they’ve been really transparent with us and have built a strong relationship. Especially myself and GM Courtney Morgan. He’s been very involved in the process with Zyan, myself, and Zyan’s mom. We’re just really enjoying our time with them, and they always welcome us with open arms during every visit.”

Gibson now joins a prestigious and established team, which is preparing for potential changes, especially with the key departure of Jalen Milroe to the NFL.

DeBoer also strengthens his offense
Step by step, the Crimson Tide are preparing for the future, and Coach DeBoer is starting to shape his team for the upcoming season. Along with Gibson’s addition to the defense, the coach now has the opportunity to enhance his offense with a talented player.

Wide receiver Isaiah Horton, who recently entered the transfer portal, will join Alabama next season after transferring from the Miami Hurricanes. Horton was expected to be the top wide receiver at Miami but will be behind freshman standout Ryan Williams in the upcoming season, prompting his decision to explore a new opportunity.

With this move, Alabama secures one of the top wide receivers in the NCAAF and aims to achieve even greater success than they did this season.
