Frank Lampard interviewed by Birmingham City as former England midfielder’s career hits new low

Football Insider reports that League One side Derby County seemingly haven’t learned their lesson after previously hiring Wayne Rooney, which ended disastrously. Now, they’re considering Frank Lampard for a managerial role.

While Lampard was a brilliant player, his managerial career has left much to be desired, similar to other former players like Rooney and Steven Gerrard. After being sacked by Chelsea following his first stint, Lampard’s return as a caretaker manager at Stamford Bridge also ended in failure as the club searched for a new permanent manager.

His time at Everton offered a chance to rebuild his managerial reputation, but it only worsened his standing. The issues at Everton were complex, but motivating his players appeared to be a significant problem.

Burnley and Birmingham City are also reportedly interested in Lampard, adding to the competition for his signature despite his recent struggles in management.

Could it be frustration that his charges aren’t able to do the things that he did well that lays behind Frank Lampard’s inability to get results? This is a plausible explanation, considering his exceptional playing career where he often set high standards for himself and his teammates.

Birmingham City, recently relegated to League One, are reportedly considering Lampard for their managerial role. Should Lampard be appointed, his primary objective would be to secure promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt.

Interestingly, Burnley are also credited with an interest in Lampard following Vincent Kompany’s move to Bayern Munich. Despite having Craig Bellamy, who has worked effectively with the squad as part of Kompany’s backroom staff, Clarets owner Alan Pace seems to favor bringing Lampard to Turf Moor.

Given Lampard’s managerial record with just a 41.3 percent win rate, it’s hard to see why any club would want to take such a risk. Nonetheless, his name and experience as a player seem to attract interest from clubs looking to make a bold managerial appointment.
