West Ham table £9.7m bid for ‘Unbelievable’ attacker

According to Africa Foot, West Ham United has submitted a £9.7 million deal for former academy standout Grady Diangana.

The news source reports that the West Brom player has become a target for a number of European clubs, including Lazio, Roma, Wolves, Brighton, and Leicester, on their website on May 27.

However, the Hammers have already held negotiations with the Baggies and have taken a step to gain the upper hand by putting in a bid for the DR Congo international.

West Ham will add an academy star to the assault.

Though often forgotten, Diangana was a standout player in the West Ham academy before deciding to leave in pursuit of more consistent first-team action.

The winger has become a vital player for Carlos Corberan since moving to The Hawthorns, but his play has been inconsistent, and he hasn’t been able to assist them in returning to the top division.

With multiple changes anticipated at the London Stadium this summer, this may be some clever business. Despite his impressive performances, current captain Jed Wallace has called him “unbelievable.”

Diangana wouldn’t be too expensive but would cover a problem position, while also contributing to the homegrown quota for the squad.

Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui are moving quickly to bolster the squad and Diangana could be on his way into the club in the coming weeks.
