Report: Sheffield Wednesday set to sign Leeds talent with ‘crazy energy’ on a free ahead of Ian Poveda deal

This summer, Sheffield Wednesday plans to bring in another Elland Road attacker in addition to finalizing the permanent acquisition of Ian Poveda from Leeds United.

After making just 10 appearances for Leeds in the first half of the season, Colombian international Poveda, 24, joined Wednesday on loan on deadline day in January, helping Danny Rohl’s team avoid the threat of relegation.

The pocket-sized winger, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign, is anticipated to sign a long-term contract with Wednesday; Rohl has stated that Wednesday is eager to make a permanent move.

However, he might not be the only player still on Leeds’ roster who will be joining Rohl’s team in the summer. According to a Leeds Live story, a talented 19-year-old may sign on a free transfer on Wednesday after Poveda.

Keenan Carole, who has made 67 appearances for Leeds’ Under-18 and Under-21 teams and contributed to 17 goals during that period, is in fact scheduled to have his contract at Elland Road expire in the summer.

According to the report, Carole’s shift to Wednesday is as follows:

Wednesday set to sign Keenan Carole from Leeds on a free

With one month left on his contract, French teenager Carole, who signed a two-year agreement at Elland Road in 2022, appears certain to leave for nothing at the end of the season, and Wednesday is interested.

Carole played last week for The Owls’ U21 team against Ipswich Town while on trial at Leeds’ Yorkshire rivals. Leeds Live goes one step farther than previous reports that Wednesday was interested.

The son of former Leeds winger Sebastian Carole, Carole is reportedly ready to sign with Hillsborough. It’s possible that Wednesday ends up acquiring two Leeds offensive players for free.

Carole, a teenager with obvious promise who is good enough to play regularly for Thorp Arch’s U18 and U21 teams, can play full back or on the flank, which will have persuaded Wednesday to consider a move.

In addition, his father’s remarks from 2022 provided a general description of his son’s playing style: “He has insane energy on the pitch, can do a lot of things, with and without the ball,” Carole remarked.

Alongside his studies, he demonstrates a great deal of sincerity. He is a nice young man who works really hard to achieve. He plays the same position as me, but he’s far more dedicated to it,” he continued.
