Club And Supporters Enjoy Leeds Road 30TH Anniversary Event
Huddersfield Town recently commemorated the 30th anniversary of their final fixture at their original Leeds Road home with a special event at the John Smith’s Stadium. Fans, ex-players, staff, journalists, and more gathered to celebrate the historic ground that was the club’s home from 1908 to 1994.
The event, organized by the Supporter Services team, featured ex-Town players, staff, journalists, and the HTSA Heritage Project, shedding light on the club’s history during its time at Leeds Road.
Leeds Road witnessed league title wins, an FA Cup victory, and several relegations before the decision was made to move to the John Smith’s Stadium. The event included exhibitions of memorabilia, live on-stage interviews, video interviews, and open discussions.
Huddersfield Town Club Ambassador Andy Booth expressed his delight at the event, emphasizing the importance of Leeds Road in the club’s history and thanking everyone involved for their contribution.
Booth said, “Leeds Road was, is, and will always be such a huge and important part of our history as a Club, it’s our original home, and we should never forget that.”
He also thanked everyone who participated in the event, including Peter Jackson, Mel Booth, Steven Chicken, Alan Sykes, Professor Graham Leslie, George Binns, David Taylor, and the HTSA Heritage Project.
