Paul Warne must sign ‘unbelievable’ Craig Forsyth upgrade this summer, he’ll cost nothing
Derby County should sign Harrison Burrows as a Craig Forsyth upgrade
Harrison Burrows, who had a tremendous season at Peterborough United, will be in high demand this summer.
Despite switching from being a winger to an offensive left-back this season, the 22-year-old has still been a menace in the final third, with six goals and 14 assists in League One.
Just one Derby standoutIn the third tier, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has provided more assists (16) than Burrows, and Darren Ferguson has praised his “unbelievable” effect down the left.
An unidentified Championship club made a bid for the young player in January, but Peterborough turned it down. With the Englishman’s contract expiring in June, interest in him will only grow.
The Rams should sign left-back after he puts up such ridiculous stats, like a goal and an assist against Derby.
His ability to play as a wing-back or in a four-man defense makes him an excellent match for their interchanging system.
Burrows would contend with Louie Sibley, the current starter, for a spot in the starting lineup, providing Derby with two strong left-handed options heading into the Championship.
It will be challenging for the Rams to convince him to sign, of course, given the majority of the second tier is searching for a deal, but he is a player they should be considering as a long-term Forsyth replacement.
