Adelaide Crows
The Crows are set to embark on a community trip to Port Lincoln.
Adelaide’s upcoming trip to Port Lincoln will feature a key trial match at Centenary Oval, providing local fans with an opportunity to witness their favorite players in action. As part of the AFL’s 2024 Community Camps program, the Crows will engage with the community for two days on February 15 and February 16.
On Thursday, the camp will kick off with players conducting clinics and delivering the Adelaide Crows Foundation’s popular STEMfooty program in local schools. A Crows Community Football Clinic, open to children aged 5-15, will take place at Centenary Oval on Thursday at 4 pm. Following the clinic, an Open Training Session will be held at 5 pm, allowing fans to watch the AFL side train and interact with players for photos and autographs.
The squad will return to Centenary Oval on Friday (February 16) at 4:30 pm for their annual internal trial match. Additional activities over the two days include an AFL player signing session at Peter Kittle Toyota on Friday morning and a Female Football Clinic at Port Lincoln High School Oval at 3:30 pm. Participants must register for the Female Football Clinic.
Crows AFLW players will visit Mallee Park Football Club’s women’s training on Thursday afternoon, followed by a community barbecue supplied by the Port Lincoln Aboriginal Health Service at 6 pm.
Adelaide CEO Tim Silvers expressed excitement about giving back to the Eyre Peninsula community, acknowledging the passion of country members and fans. The visit is particularly special as it coincides with the 25th-anniversary celebration of the Eyre Peninsula Supporter’s Group.
Silvers emphasized the commitment of these fans, who usually travel to Adelaide for games, making this an excellent opportunity for the team to connect with them on their home turf. The Crows have organized a range of events across the two days, culminating in the internal trial game, and encourage everyone to attend and witness the players in action. The Crows extend their gratitude to the Lower Eyre Peninsula Council and the AFL for their generous financial support of the 2024 Community Camp.
