After Leicester City’s 2-1 victory over Birmingham City on Saturday, Enzo Maresca has pointed out an area for improvement for one of his players.

Although it was a little unsettling for much of the afternoon, the East Midlanders’ late victory over the relegation-threatened Blues made it all the more thrilling for Foxes supporters.

The hosts’ victory put them one point ahead of Ipswich Town and two ahead of Leeds United at the top of the Championship standings.

Leicester is in a fairly good position going into the last few games of the season because they also have a game in hand over the aforementioned two.

Maresca gave one City star a very forceful message following yesterday’s victory.

Enzo Maresca urges Stephy Mavididi to be more consistent

In the 87th minute, Stephy Mavididi headed home a mouthwatering cross from Yunus Akgun to send King Power Stadium into a frenzy. It was the match-winner versus Birmingham.

For the summer recruit, who has made an impression in his first season at The Foxes, it was a wonderful occasion.

The quick-witted winger increased his goal total to 13; nonetheless, Maresca asked the 25-year-old to play with greater consistency after the game.

The City manager remarked, “He loves and we adore (when he goes up to the plate).”

“Happy for him. I’ve told Stephy repeatedly from the beginning that he needs to be reliable. He may grow to be even more crucial to us.

Even though Maresca was obviously happy for Mavididi, his play was noteworthy because he did not lavish much praise on the match-winning goal.

Instead of giving him credit, the Italian head coach offered him something specific to improve on.

It will take time to see if that motivates him, but after a challenging few months, he is undoubtedly getting back to his best.

Stephy Mavididi has the potential to play in the Premier League.

With a chance to return to the Premier League right away, Leicester is presently leading this amazing battle for automatic promotion.

If they do return to the top flight, it will be interesting to see who can make the move from the Championship to the elite ranks.

Mavididi, who has been “integral” this season, has shown that he is a player capable of going to the next level with his outstanding FA Cup performance against Chelsea.

The former member of the Arsenal youth scored one of the competition’s goals after dribbling into the box and curling a well-aimed shot home.

If he wants to reach his great potential, he must consistently generate more of that, and with Maresca’s experience, he is in the ideal position to do so.
