Jermaine McGillvary of Wakefield Trinity will miss three months of action due to a tricep tear.

Due to a torn tricep, the former Huddersfield Giants winger will require surgery and will miss the start of Wakefield’s Championship campaign.

Trinity’s loss is a significant setback for the 35-year-old, but they have enough insurance to maintain their lead in the 1895 Cup when they play Barrow Raiders tomorrow afternoon.

With five games remaining in the 2024 season, Daryl Powell’s team has not only avoided defeat but also set up a tantalizing matchup in the Challenge Cup Fifth Round with Powell’s old team, Featherstone Rovers.

With McGillvary out, Powell will probably start Lachlan Walmsley and Romain Franco in the wing positions.
