Mikey Johnston, a teammate, has been named by West Brom captain Jed Wallace as the “best player” in the league as of right now.

West Brom jumped at the chance to get the winger on loan from Celtic during the January transfer window.

Johnston, 24, has scored six goals for the Championship squad in nine games since then.

Wallace praised the player and said, “I think he’s the best player in the league right now with the way he’s playing,” according to an Express & Star article. He really told me after the QPR game, “Maybe I should have played you in on one of them.” “Just kick it towards the goal the way you’re playing, and we’ll go from there,” I answered.

West Brom’s move to bring in Johnston earlier this winter has been a brilliant move as they want to make a run at the Premier League.

He has given their offensive unit additional speed and strength, and he has already made an early impact in England by scoring some spectacular goals.

The Republic of Ireland international has spent his whole career with Celtic, but under Brendan Rodgers, he hasn’t played as much for the Hoops this season.

However, he still has a contract with the Glasgow giants, and this summer, he is expected to return to his parent club.

The player’s long-term future will be up for consideration for the Scottish Premiership table toppers.

His priority for the time being, meanwhile, will be maintaining his form with West Brom.

Currently enjoying success, Carlos Corberan’s team defeated Bristol City 2-0 at home in their final game before the international break.

With eight games remaining in the current season, the Baggies are eight points outside of the play-offs and currently sit in fifth position in the table.

The Midlands team’s next match is a Good Friday away trip to Millwall. On Easter Monday, they square off against Watford at the Hawthorns.
