West Brom: If nothing happens, these 8 players will leave the Hawthorns
Several senior players will be saying goodbye to West Bromwich Albion as the Championship season comes to a conclusion.
Under Carlos Corberan, the Baggies are attempting a third promotion attempt to the Premier League and are set to make their way up to the top division despite having restricted funding while the Spaniard is in charge.
Since Shilen Patel now owns the bulk of the team, several players will be leaving after this season to help finance improvements for the team the next year, allowing Corberan to establish his own authority among the playing group.

The West Brom players on this list will be leaving the Hawthorns if nothing changes, according to Football League World.
1Martin Kelly
Martin Kelly joined Crystal Palace during Steve Bruce’s reign, and his contract expires this summer.
When he made his debut at Blackburn Rovers last season, the seasoned former first-team defender sustained a major knee injury that sidelined him for the rest of the campaign. Under Corberan, the player fell out of favor.
With so much rivalry for spots in the defense’s core, the 33-year-old is unlikely to sign a new contract given the several setbacks he has seen in his recuperation since returning to B71.
2Nathaniel Chalobah
After joining the Black Country team during the January transfer window of 2023, Nathaniel Chalobah’s contract with the Hawthorns is coming to an end.
Due to some of his performances, the 29-year-old hasn’t always been well-liked by the Albion supporters and hasn’t been able to establish himself as a mainstay in the starting lineup.
Chalobah will be searching for a new place to call home this summer as this transfer has proven to be generally unsuccessful.
3Yann M’Vila
After playing for Corberan at Olympiacos, former Sunderland midfielder Yann M’Vila reconnected with the club as a free agent in the January 2024 transfer window. Nevertheless, M’Vila has only appeared in a small number of games for the team.
For the latter stretch of the Championship season, the former France international adds extra depth to the midfield, but he will need to perform better in the remaining games of the season to be considered for a contract extension.
4Erik Pieters
Erik Pieters, 35, is another who might soon be heading out the door; when needed, he’s a valuable utility player who wears a blue and white shirt.
The Dutchman, who mostly plays left or center defense, has the potential to be a valuable member of the team, but he is likely to leave the West Midlands because he is getting older.
5Adam Reach
Another player whose contract is about to expire is Adam Reach, who earns £40,000 a week, apparently the biggest salary at the team.
Reach joined the Baggies on August 3, 2021, having previously played for Sheffield Wednesday. He has over 50 matches under his belt and a plenty of second-tier experience.
You have to assume the Baggies will try to trade him and use the money saved up somewhere else if his wage predictions are accurate.
6Alex Mowatt
Following Valerien Ismael from Barnsley to the Hawthorns in 2021, Alex Mowatt underwent a loan to Middlesbrough under Steve Bruce after a lackluster campaign.
Following his 28 appearances at Riverside Stadium, where he helped Boro earn a play-off spot, Mowatt has returned under Corberan and is now a vital part of the team’s ascent up the standings.
Although the 29-year-old seems to be getting back into the swing of things in B71, his future is still uncertain as the last few months of his contract are running out.
7Cedric Kipre
Like Mowatt, Kipre did not have an easy time at the Baggies; in fact, he spent the previous season on loan at Cardiff City, a rival team in the second division.
Cedric Kipre, who first gained popularity with the Bluebirds, has maintained his form to be an important member of Albion’s defense.
The former Wigan Athletic defender is sure to attract plenty of suitors with his current contract at West Brom coming to an end but Albion must quash any interest by offering an improved deal.
8Matt Phillips
Wideman Matt Phillips, who joined the team back in 2016, completes the list. He is now the player with the longest tenure with the team.
Throughout Corberan’s tenure, the former Scotland international has made over 200 appearances for the Baggies and has gained popularity. During a demanding second-tier season, his enormous adaptability was a shining attribute.
It’s unclear what will happen to Phillips this summer, even though he’s still a valuable member of the playing team.
