Utah football has added a new member to its coaching staff, Corey Dennis, who previously served as the quarterbacks coach for Ohio State for four seasons. Despite being slated for a different role after the hiring of Bill O’Brien as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Ohio State, Dennis chose not to renew his contract and explore opportunities elsewhere.

Dennis, who spent a total of nine years at Ohio State, began as an intern and worked his way up the ranks. His decision to join Utah as an offensive analyst has some underlying connections. Notably, he is the son-in-law of former Utah head coach Urban Meyer, who later moved on to coaching at Florida and Ohio State.

The familiarity with Utah football goes beyond family ties, as Dennis was on the Buckeyes’ coaching staff when they faced the Utes in the 2022 Rose Bowl, coaching quarterback C.J. Stroud. Having recently experienced Utah’s style of play and having a family connection, Dennis could become a valuable asset for the Utes as they aim for significant achievements in the upcoming 2024 football season.
