Following Saturday’s tie between Celtic and Aberdeen, supporters, analysts, and past players have all shared their thoughts on the future of the team.

The focus of criticism has primarily been on Celtic’s January transfer window, with Ange Postecoglou being singled out for scrutiny due to his role in Celtic’s two-point loss at Pittodrie.

Hugh Keevins criticized Argentine full-back Alexandro Bernabei, telling the £3.75 million Lanus signing that he is just not talented enough to play for Celtic.

“He’s a £3.75 million player who has been found to be, like many at Celtic, unworthy of the jersey,” Keevins stated [Clyde Superscoreboard]. Thus, the moment will arrive when it is unloaded.

“He is there as an emergency stopgap because Greg Taylor is out injured.“

The Celtic fans won’t like this but they will agree with Keevins on this one. Bernabei has shown nothing to prove that he’s got the ability to be a regular starter for Celtic.

It is necessary for Alexandro Bernabei to leave Celtic.

Bernabei has played for Celtic for 221 minutes this season, averaging a 6.56 match rating. [Who Scored]

The 23-year-old has only made two tackles in those minutes, with an average of 0.5 clearances, 0.3 interceptions, and 0.2 blocks.

It can be argued that this is expected given how much attacking Celtic does, but since Bernabei was involved in the games where he was required to defend, such as the Saturday tie against Aberdeen, the unlikely 1-0 victory over Ross County, and the 2-0 loss to Hearts, there was a lot of defending to be done.

Don’t forget that on Saturday afternoon, Bojan Miovski’s first goal came from Bernabei’s mistake.

His offensive statistics are not that much better. As an attacking fullback, Bernabei averages 0.5 shots, 0.5 critical passes, and an 80.8% passing success rate. However, he does not have any goals or assists.

Regretfully, I concur with Keevins that Bernabei must go on, and hopefully that day will arrive in the summer.
