Miami Hurricanes star player enters the tranfer portal

The Hurricanes will see a lot of transfer portal activity.

Miami will lose one of its top 2022 football recruits to the Transfer Portal.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, defensive end Nyjalik Kelly will leave the University of Miami and look for a new home. Kelly is entering his junior season after suffering an unfortunate injury that forced him to miss the majority of the 2023 season.

Kelly was a 4-star recruit out of Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His 247 composite ranking placed him at #90 in the country.

Miami is now much deeper at the defensive end position that Kelly plays, which may explain why he will enter the Transfer Portal. The spring window officially opens on April 16 and closes on April 30, according to the NCAA.

Kelly’s 2022 statistics from CFB Stats show 11 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks. Kelly appeared in only four games in 2023, totaling eight tackles and one tackle for loss.

Despite his limited production in 2023, Kelly is an extremely talented football player who should benefit another program this fall.
