A few weeks ago, it seemed likely that Davante Adams would be traded from the Las Vegas Raiders in the near future. However, negotiations have stalled, and Adams will miss his third straight game due to a hamstring injury.
Since he requested a trade, the New York Jets have dismissed their head coach, and New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has been injured. Both teams were seen as prime candidates for acquiring Adams, but they have both lost their last two games since his trade request.

In a surprising turn of events, ESPN’s Adam Schefter now reports that a trade for Adams is no longer a certainty.”
In a constantly evolving and uncertain situation that appears to shift each week, Davante Adams might remain with the Las Vegas Raiders instead of being traded, according to league sources who spoke to ESPN,” Adam Schefter wrote in an October 12 column. ”
Adams has attracted attention from other teams, but as one source told ESPN, it is not the kind of ‘phone-is-ringing-off-the-hook interest’ for the six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver.”
From the Raiders’ standpoint, they are likely still eager to complete a deal, but it seems Adams may not be against staying, particularly in light of recent developments regarding quarterbacks.
Davante Adams is a supporter of Aidan O’Connell.
Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce announced this week that Aidan O’Connell will take over as the starting quarterback, replacing Gardner Minshew—a decision that Davante Adams supports, according to Schefter. ”
Another factor in why Adams may not be traded—and sources stressed this should not be overlooked his strong support for Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who was named the new starter this week,” Schefter wrote.
In fact, Adams may be more enthusiastic about O’Connell than people initially thought. “During the Raiders’ final four games last season, O’Connell threw eight touchdown passes and no interceptions,” Schefter noted.
Las Vegas still signed Gardner Minshew in the offseason and named him the starting quarterback, a decision with which Adams felt comfortable.
“However, Adams is a strong supporter of O’Connell and has privately referred to him as one of the best quarterbacks he has played with, according to sources,” Schefter wrote. Playing alongside O’Connell is reportedly appealing to Adams, who is set to miss his third consecutive game on Sunday due to a hamstring injury.
