Pundit notes key difference between Rangers & Celtic in title fight
Neil McCann has highlighted a significant contrast between the supporters of Rangers and Celtic in the Premiership title race. As a former player for Rangers, McCann observes that the Rangers faithful are displaying more patience towards their team compared to the fans of Celtic.
Despite Rangers missing an opportunity to overtake Celtic at the top of the table following their 3-1 victory over Ross County, McCann was pleased to note the supportive atmosphere at Ibrox, even when Ross County managed to equalize against the run of play. He contrasted this with the atmosphere at Celtic Park, where he claims there have been audible expressions of frustration from the fans, despite Celtic’s strong recent form of winning eight out of their last nine matches.
McCann emphasizes the importance of fans’ support as a motivating factor for the team. He suggests that the patience and encouragement shown by Rangers’ supporters contribute to a relaxed and focused environment for the team, in contrast to the potential tension and pressure experienced by Celtic players due to fan reactions.
Looking ahead, Celtic is set to host Kilmarnock, while Rangers will be facing St Johnstone in their upcoming matches.
