Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing him back

 

The Pittsburgh Steelers are being pushed to consider adding another linebacker.

This offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers added a third inside linebacker to their roster, signing Patrick Queen to a three-year contract. The team currently has four linebackers, and one former linebacker thinks they should bring back a fifth.

Terence Garvin suggested on another former Steeler’s podcast, The Arthur Moats Experience, that the Steelers re-sign inside linebacker Kwon Alexander. The 29-year-old recently announced that he is back on the field rehabbing after tearing his achilles last season.

“Oh man, Pat Queen and Kwon in the same room,” Garvin exclaimed. “That is an explosive little core. You’ll get your Achilles’ tendon healed. That might not be a bad one to bring back in. He was doing exceptionally well (last year).”

The Steelers’ linebacker room currently includes Queen, Elandon Roberts, Cole Holcomb, and Mark Robinson. Holcomb is recovering from ACL surgery, which occurred in Week 9 – one week before Alexander’s. While head coach Mike Tomlin stated at the NFL Meetings that the team received a “positive” update on Holcomb’s recovery, it remains unclear when he will return to the field.

Last season, Alexander played nine games for Pittsburgh, recording one interception, one forced fumble, two pass deflections, one sack, 41 tackles, five tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits.
