Penn State football secured a commitment to its 2025 recruiting class on Super Bowl Sunday, with offensive lineman Michael Troutman announcing his decision. Troutman, a 3-star prospect from DePaul Catholic in New Jersey, stands at 6-2 and weighs 275 pounds according to On3. He is ranked as the No. 25 player in New Jersey for the current recruiting cycle.
Troutman had offers from several other schools including Rutgers, Duke, Texas A&M, Illinois, and Pitt, among others. His commitment makes him the 11th player and second offensive lineman to join Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class.
This commitment adds to Penn State’s recent recruiting success, with four commitments in the past three weeks. Among them are 4-star linebacker Dayshaun Burnett from Imani Catholic in Pittsburgh and 3-star linebacker Alex Tatsch from Greater Latrobe High.
As of now, Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class ranks sixth nationally and second in the Big Ten according to the latest 4231Sports Composite rankings.
