Ole Miss Rebels have lost cornerback Amorion Walker, one of their newest defensive additions, as reported by 247Sports. Walker is expected to re-enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after arriving in Oxford in January 2023.

Walker, a junior, entered the transfer portal this offseason shortly after winning the 2024 national championship game with the Michigan Wolverines. His departure comes as a blow to the Rebels, as he was expected to be a key contributor in Pete Golding’s revamped secondary for the upcoming season.

Originally recruited by Michigan as a receiver in their 2022 signing class, Walker later switched to cornerback. Although he showed promise, injuries limited his playing time. In two years at Michigan, Walker played in 11 games, registering three total tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, and one pass breakup.

With Walker leaving, Ole Miss’ depth at cornerback will be tested this season, especially since the Rebels have already lost their top two corners from 2023 to the NFL Draft.
